Progressive Creation: Discover How Genesis and Science Tell One Story
One of the most controversial topics between professional scientists and Biblical scholars is the theory of creation versus evolution. The Bible seems to clearly teach that the natural world was created by God, a supernatural divine being. Scientists look at various evidences in the physical world and see proof of the universe having evolved over millions of years. For someone scientifically inclined, to ignore this evidence in favor of a Creator is foolish and contrary to logic. To a Christian, to reject the Bible’s claim that God created the world in exchange for evolution is to reject the whole Bible, and thereby God Himself. Is it possible to have an acceptance of both perspectives, or are they always exclusive options?
In his new book Progressive Creation, Jim McCarthy explores the relationship of creation and evolution. Jim discusses controversies between the two ideologies, engages with critics’ opinions, and responds to their objections. He also presents a new creation model for the 21st century, explaining how biblical creation relates to modern scientific understanding of the universe’s origin and life on earth.

James G. “Jim” McCarthy
James “Jim” McCarthy is an American Christian apologist, author, and educator currently based out of Rome, Italy. He earned degrees in creative arts for broadcast communications as well as electrical engineering before focusing on full-time ministry.
Jim’s own journey wrestling through Catholic theology, the relevancy of the Bible to modern times, and Scripture’s ability to hold up against scientific discovery influence his writings and teachings. His current project is Biblical Theology for Skeptics, a multi-book series available in print supplemented by a YouTube series addressing the most difficult challenges to the Christian faith, specifically the “Problem of Evil.”
